Scientist with over 12 years of experience dedicated to advancing respiratory health and infectious disease outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have spent nearly a decade coordinating complex, multi-site research initiatives – including overseeing the operational and regulatory frameworks for large-scale projects.

My recent work has focused on frontline epidemic research (COVID-19, Ebola, Mpox)—leading efforts in Ebola vaccine trials during Uganda’s Sudan virus outbreaks, conducting COVID-19 therapeutic trials, and most recently, investigating the epidemiology and severity of Mpox to inform regional response strategies.

I am dedicated to establishing sustainable clinical trial capacity in Africa; through leveraging my background in research coordination and investigation to influence national health policies and mentor the next generation of African scientists.

I lead the Interdisciplinary Consortium for Epidemics Research – ICER (https://icer.org.ug), coordinated at Lung Institute, Makerere University. ICER is a consortium established to address the lack of coordinated clinical research infrastructure and efforts on the continent.
